WOMEN IN ARMED CONFLICTS: POSITIVE ROLE AND PROTECTION MECHANISMS
 

The CENTRAL RESEARCH HOUSE in cooperation with the Konrad Adenaeur Stiftung organized a workshop on Women in Armed Conflicts: Positive Role and Protection Mechanisms, on April 16th, 2016 at the Smallville Hotel in Badaro – Beirut, with the participation of 10 women activists and professionals from political parties, media and civil society sectors.
Topics presented and discussed covered:

- The psychological impact of negative and positive involvement of women in armed conflicts
- Women, Peace and Security: UN Security Council Resolutions
- International protection mechanisms during armed conflicts

This workshop, the first in a series of 3, is aimed at enabling women to develop their capacities in promoting principles of international protection during armed conflicts, within their communities and their professional circles, and to act as agents of behavioral change.
